Decide risk first. Risk 1% of your account per trade — on $10,000, that's $100 max loss.
Let the stop set the size. Shares = dollars at risk ÷ (entry − stop). Wide stop = fewer shares. That's the whole formula.
Ten losers in a row = −10%. At 1% risk you survive streaks that wipe out undisciplined traders.
